"Not shy on ripeness, as lush plum and blueberry compote flavors glide along, infused with singed vanilla and licorice notes. An anise twinge checks in at the very end, helping to extend the finish. Will have fans for sure." - 91 points, Wine Spectator
Rich, round tannins accompany a lingering finish that allows for youthful consumption while confirming its ability to cellar for years to come.
Sierra Mar Vineyard - This vineyard is planted on land that has been in the Franscioni family for three generations. Meaning “Mountain Sea” in Spanish, Sierra Mar sits at just over 1000 feet and is one of the highest altitude vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. This high elevation paired with the naturally thin soils pave the way for low yields of highly intense fruit.
The Santa Lucia Highlands appellation offers dreamy conditions for growing this sometimes-challenging grape, including its cool, coastal climate, foggy nights and mornings and persistent daytime wind that moderates the warm sunshine and ultimately slows down ripening.
The Pinot Noir wines produced from Santa Lucia Highlands are often praised for their richness, silky texture, vibrant red fruit flavors, subtle earthiness and warm spice characteristics.
A graceful wine with aromas of raspberry and rose petals lead to fresh acidity and welcoming flavors of red currant and rhubarb with a finish of savory dried spices.
"A zesty version, with grip to the densely packed dark fruit and Asian spice flavors. Hints of dried juniper berry linger on the crisp finish. Drink now through 2025" ~92 points | Kim Marcus, Wine Spectator.
A hedonistic wine with incredibly fine grain tannins and a velvet mouthfeel. Decadent chocolate covered cherries accompanied by the delicate essence of Madagascar vanilla on the finish.
"The concentrated pear tart and apple pastry flavors are well-structured and graceful, with plenty of cream and meringue accents. Rich buttery notes emerge on the powerful finish, revealing dried herbal and smoky hints." 93 points — Kim Marcus, Wine Spectator
